How pricing works
Here is what the common jobs cost. Travel is already in the number, so there is no trip charge to work out at the door, and anything not listed here is quoted on the phone before it is booked.
- Apostille from $250 per document, plus filing fees at cost
- Jail signings $225 the first hour, then $75 per hour, paid in full
- Hospital and bedside signings $125 for up to five notarizations
- Ceremonies from $200. Travel included in every price
What things cost.
- Apostille service starts at $250 per document, plus the government filing fee at cost.
- Jail and correctional facility signings are $225 for the first hour, then $75 per hour. Paid in full before the visit, and non-refundable.
- Hospital and bedside signings are $125 for up to five notarizations.
- Ceremonies start at $200.
- California caps most notarial acts at $15 per signature by law. Government and agency filing fees are set by those agencies and billed at cost, never marked up.
- Travel is already included in the price. It only changes for appointments after business hours, or on Sundays and holidays.
- A $25 deposit confirms most appointments. Correctional facility signings are the exception: no deposit option, paid in full.
- Anything not listed here is quoted on the phone before it is booked.
One exception
Correctional facility signings are different
These are the only jobs with no deposit option, and the only ones where payment cannot be returned. Here's exactly why.
From $225, paid in full before the visit
No deposit, no balance on the day. The full amount is settled before I travel, and the appointment is confirmed once payment clears.
Non-refundable, without exception
Lockdowns, transfers, medical holds, and count times all cancel signings after I have already driven to the facility and cleared security. The trip happened. That risk sits with the client, and you are told so before you pay rather than after.

FAQ
Pricing questions
Are these the final prices?
They are starting prices, and for most jobs they are the whole price. What moves a number is the things that genuinely cost more: a second hour inside a correctional facility, a certified copy that has to be ordered before an apostille can be issued, or a document that routes through Washington rather than Sacramento. You hear the full number on the phone before anything is booked.
Is travel charged separately?
No. Travel is already included in my prices, so there is no separate trip charge and nothing to work out at the door. The only time the price changes is for appointments after business hours, or on Sundays and holidays.
What is fixed?
California law caps most notarial acts at $15 per signature, and that's the maximum. Nobody can charge more for the notarial act itself. Government, county, and consular filing fees are set by those agencies, and I bill them at cost with no markup.
What's the deposit?
A $25 deposit confirms most appointments, and for some services the deposit is arranged by phone once we've agreed on the work. Fingerprinting at a school or any group booking of more than three or four people also takes a deposit, because that is a reserved block of time. Correctional facility signings are the exception in the other direction: no deposit, paid in full up front.
How do correctional facility signings work?
They are paid in full before I go, and payment is non-refundable. There is no deposit option for them. The reason is simple: lockdowns, transfers, medical holds, and count times cancel signings after I have already driven there and cleared security. The trip is made whether or not the facility produces the signer, and you'll be told that before you pay, not after.
Do you charge for a consultation?
No. Telling you whether your document needs an apostille or consular legalization, or which office issues it, costs nothing. I'd rather spend ten minutes on that than take money for the wrong service.
What payment do you take?
Credit, debit, and cash. Mobile and correctional appointments are paid ahead, usually through a payment link sent to your phone.
