Accessibility

Last reviewed October 2026.

I want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who are blind or have low vision, people who are deaf or hard of hearing, people who are color blind, and people who use a keyboard or assistive technology instead of a mouse.

The standard I aim for

This site is built to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the standard most often used for websites in the United States.

What that means on this site

  • Text and buttons have enough color contrast to read comfortably, and nothing relies on color alone. Links in text are underlined, and selected options in the quote form show a check mark.
  • Every page can be used with a keyboard. A “Skip to content” link appears first, and the item you are on is clearly outlined.
  • Images have text descriptions, form fields have labels, and the quote form tells screen readers which step you are on and when something needs fixing.
  • There is no audio or video you need to hear to use the site. You never have to call: you can email me or use the quote form, and I will reply in writing.
  • The site respects your device’s “reduce motion” setting, and text can be enlarged up to 200% without losing content.
